First time I met charlie

Today, I said goodbye to a beautiful and insprational child at a very beautiful service. I still remember the very first time I met Charlie Waller. His mother had brought his sister to my farm for her first ever horseback riding lesson. As I greeted this family I could not help but make note of how ABSOLUTELY adorable this toddler was. At 2 years old he had this mop of strawberry blonde hair and as the farm dogs greeted him with kisses he had the most infectious giggle and smile. And then Charlie did something I would never forget. At this moment 2 of my dogs were playing tug of war with a stick and Charlie cried out causing the dogs to return their attention to him and resume kissing him. He then began to attempt to explain to the wiggling exuberant dogs, the importance of sharing so noone would have their feelings hurt. And this is merely one of MANY examples of his want for everyone to get along and feel loved no matter the species or circumstances. In the 3 and a half years I knew him he never ceased to impress me with his love for life, and his love for others. Even through his battle with cancer he was always so positive, and wanted everyone around him to also be positive. I will always remember him and his adventures around the farm, loving on the horses and even riding a little, and especially for his love for my barn cat Rosie. He is a truly wonderful and inspiring child and his loss will be felt by many. My heart goes out to his family in this difficult time.
