Charlie's smile was a light that brightened many moments in the lives of people he met. Today, I told a friend of mine about Charlie's death. She recalled that she had met him once on his visit to England in 2009, when he was just a toddler. She vividly remembers his smile that lit up his whole face and reflected on her own. She watched him grow older through the photos on the Waller family calendar that hangs in our living room. But it's the memory of that first smile on that gorgeous toddler's face that she says she will always carry with her.
